Dr. Rockne Hymel received his undergraduate degree and medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans. He complete his fellowship in radiation oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Hymel is board certified in Louisiana and has been on staff at Ochsner since August 2019. His expertise is in radiation oncology, including genitourinary cancers, breast cancer, head and neck cancers, lung cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, melanoma/skin cancers, brain tumors, sarcoma, and lymphoma. He is also experienced in the palliation of metastatic cancer (bone, brain, soft tissue metastases) as well as stereotactic body radiation therapy and radio-surgery.
