Overview

  • Dr. Schubert earned his medical degree from Columbia University in New York and completed his internship and anesthesiology residency at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. He completed a fellowship in neuroanesthesia at the University of California - San Diego in La Jolla, California. Dr. Schubert received his MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He is board certified in anesthesiology and maintains an active clinical practice focused on anesthesia for patients with central nervous system disorders.Prior to coming to New Orleans, Dr. Schubert has chaired a large clinical and academic group within the Cleveland Clinic Health System. He has served as the president of the Cleveland Clinic Medical Staff and president of the Ohio Society of Anesthesiologists.In June 2009 Dr. Schubert assumed the position as Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, Ochsner Health System.Dr. Schubert has published extensively in the area of neuroanesthesia and practice management, including the textbook "Clinical Neuroanesthesia" and more than 80 scientific papers.Dr. Schubert serves on the boards of directors of the Foundation for Anesthesiology Education and Research (FAER) and the Society of Education in Anesthesia (SEA)
