Tanya received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Georgia State University. She obtained five years of experience as a chemo-certified registered nurse in inpatient and outpatient oncology at Northside Hospital. Tanya received a doctorate of nursing practice (Family Nurse Practitioner) degree from Augusta University (Medical College of Georgia) and was part-time faculty for the bachelor of science nursing program for two years. She has been working in inpatient and outpatient hematology/oncology at Ochsner for over four years. She received certification as an advanced oncology certified nurse practitioner. Her special areas of interest are cancer care, leukemia, blood and bone marrow transplant and hematology/oncology. Professional organizations that Tanya has membership in include American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy, Oncology Nursing Society, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Ismaili Heath Professionals Association and Sigma Theta Tau International.
