Overview
- Dr. Selim Krim is a transplant cardiologist within the section of cardiomyopathy and heart transplantation at the Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute in New Orleans, Louisiana. His clinical expertise includes advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and cardiac transplantation. In addition, Dr. Krim is an associate professor of medicine at the University of Queensland/Ochsner Clinical School and currently serves as the director of the advanced HF research section at Ochsner and associate director for the cardiovascular disease fellowship. Dr. Krim received his medical degree from the Medical University of Algiers in Algeria. He completed his internal medicine residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center McKeesport Hospital in Pennsylvania. He completed his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Ochsner Health and went on to finish his adult echocardiography (Level III) and advanced heart failure training at the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center/ University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Krim is a fellow of the Heart Failure Society of America and the American College of Cardiology where he previously served on The ACC Fellow in Training Leadership Committee. He is also a member of the International Society for Lung and Heart Transplantation. He has published over 60 manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters predominately related to advanced heart failure and LVAD therapy and published in JHLT, JACC, JACC Heart Failure, JACC Cardiovascular Imaging, Circulation Heart Failure, and Circulation Imaging. He serves as a peer reviewer for high impact medical journals including Circulation, JACC Heart Failure, American Heart Journal, European heart failure journal, and the Journal of Cardiac Failure.
