Dr. Irene Evuleocha joined Ochnser Medical Center- Baton Rouge in August 2014. She received her undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Louisiana State University. She then earned her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio. After obtaining her doctoral degree, Dr. Evuleocha completed a highly intensive academic and surgical three-year podiatric residency training program at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California. She then went on to complete her third year of surgical training at a Level II trauma center at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Sacramento, California. Throughout her academic career, Dr. Evuleocha participated in several leadership roles in the community and in academia. She has contributed and published several research projects in podiatric medicine, and has lectured at national seminars. She continues to expand her leadership attributes at Ochnser Medical Center as well as in the community of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Evuleocha believes that there is a solid connection with the physician and the patient. Her practice philosophy is to provide the best care and comfort to every patient by treating them as a family member. The physician and patient should work together as a team, in order to ensure an optimal healing environment. Dr. Evuleocha is a double board certified foot and ankle surgeon. She is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. Her clinical interests include but are not limited to bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, dermatological skin conditions, diabetic limb salvage, arthritis and foot and ankle sprains/fractures. Her interests outside of medicine are traveling, hiking, cooking and spending time with her loved ones.
